Information Validly handles

Validly may store or process information you add to the app to manage expiry tracking.

  • Account sign-in information such as email or profile details from Google/Facebook when you choose those providers.
  • Product names, barcodes, descriptions, quantities, units, expiry dates, notes, batches, and handling status.
  • Product images or image data you choose when taking photos, selecting from the library, or uploading product images.
  • Reminder settings, default reminder hour, and notification permission state on your device.

How the data is used

Data is used to provide the app's core features and is not sold to third parties.

  • Store inventory, sync/backup data, and show dashboards, filters, and product details.
  • Identify product information from barcodes or images through Cloud Functions and configured AI services.
  • Upload and store product images in Firebase Storage so they can be shown in product profiles.
  • Schedule expiry reminders through local notifications on your device.

Third-party services

Validly uses infrastructure and platform services to operate the app.

  • Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Remote Config, and Crashlytics.
  • Google/Facebook sign-in if you choose those sign-in methods.
  • Google Mobile Ads may be enabled by Remote Config in selected screens or moments.
  • AI services such as Gemini may process barcodes or images when you use lookup features.

Your choices

You can control many data and permission choices in the app or device settings.

  • Edit or delete products, images, and batches in the app.
  • Disable reminders in the app or notification permission in device settings.
  • Change camera and photo library permissions in device settings.
  • Use the website contact form for support or privacy questions.
